Verified console walkthrough

This guide is based on a browser-recorded walkthrough in the rebuilt DrillerDB console. When a step can send, submit, export, or change account access, the guide calls out the review boundary.

The Work Order Proposal tab is the fast quoting surface for pump and service work. It keeps the quote attached to the service job, stores the same line items used by Service Items, and points customer delivery back to the linked project proposal flow when it is time to email the customer. This guide records the safe drafting path: add a quote line, save it, confirm delivery controls are visible, and stop before sending anything externally.

Quick Start

  1. Open the work order Proposal tab.
  2. Click Add Line and enter the service item, optional detail, quantity, and unit cost.
  3. Review the calculated total.
  4. Click Save to store the quote on the work order.
  5. Use delivery controls only after the customer-facing proposal is ready.

Step-by-Step: Quote Service Work

Open the work order Proposal tab

From the work order workspace, open the Proposal tab. The tab starts with the current proposal lines, the printable proposal action, the Send Proposal control, and a Save button.

For service calls, quote from the work order first so the customer, service detail, linked project, and later billing stay connected.

Add the service quote line

Click Add Line, then enter the item name, optional detail, quantity, and unit cost. The row total updates immediately so you can review the quote before saving.

Save the quote

Click Save. DrillerDB writes the quote line to the work order line items, which keeps the quote aligned with the service items and billing context for this job.

If the scope changes after the technician visits, edit the same line item or add another line instead of starting a disconnected quote.

Use delivery controls only when ready

After the quote is saved, review the Print and Send Proposal controls. For customer email delivery, use the linked project proposal flow shown below the quote so the customer-facing proposal is sent from the parent project context.

Guide recordings stop here. Do not send a real proposal until the recipient, message, terms, and price are ready for the customer.

Customer delivery

The Work Order Proposal tab is the safest place to draft and save the service quote. For real customer delivery, verify the recipient, message, terms, and price before using the linked project proposal flow to email the customer-facing proposal.
