Project Details
The project detail page is your central hub for managing all aspects of a drilling project. This comprehensive interface organizes project information into tabs, making it easy to access exactly what you need while keeping the interface clean and focused.
Project Details
Understanding the Tab Structure
When you open a project, you'll see a tabbed interface with different sections based on your role and the project's needs. The Main tab is always visible and contains core project information, while additional tabs provide specialized functionality.
Main Tab
The Main tab displays essential project information including customer details, project location, and current status. The project header shows the project ID, status indicator with color coding, and customer name as a quick reference badge.
You'll find general information fields here such as well type, drilling method, estimated depth, and project dates. The location section includes address, city, state, county, and GPS coordinates if available. This is also where you'll see scheduling information if the project is assigned to a field technician.
Key actions are available from the Main tab including saving changes, creating proposals, generating work orders, and dispatching field crews. The visual status workflow allows you to advance the project through different stages with a simple click.
Proposal and Invoice Tabs
For administrators and office staff, the Proposal and Invoice tabs provide full control over pricing and billing. The Proposal tab shows all line items with quantities and pricing, allowing you to build detailed quotes. Line items are organized by category such as drilling, casing, materials, and permits.
The Invoice tab handles billing once work is complete. You can generate invoices, track payment status, and manage customer billing details. Both tabs show approval status and payment indicators with checkmarks when proposals are approved or invoices are paid.
Site and Hazards Tabs
The Site tab contains reconnaissance information collected during site visits. This includes photos, site conditions, access notes, and any special considerations for drilling. Field crews can reference this information to prepare properly before arriving at the job site.
The Hazards tab documents safety concerns and hazard assessments specific to the project location. This information is critical for crew safety and regulatory compliance. Common hazards include overhead power lines, underground utilities, confined spaces, and environmental concerns.
Well Log Tab
The Well Log tab displays drilling records including formation geology, casing details, screen placement, and completion information. This tab shows a checkmark indicator when well log data is complete, making it easy to identify which projects have submitted their drilling records.
Well logs are essential for DNR reporting and permanent well records. The system organizes geology data in a table format showing depths, formations, and material descriptions as encountered during drilling.
Activity Tab
Administrators and office staff can view the Activity tab to see a complete audit trail of project changes. This shows who made changes, when they occurred, and what was modified. Activity tracking helps with quality control and provides accountability for project updates.
Working with Project Information
The project detail page uses color coding to indicate project status at a glance. Proposals have a gray header, open jobs show yellow, completed projects display green, and closed projects appear red. This visual system makes it easy to identify project status without reading text.
Changes you make on any tab are tracked automatically. Click the Save button to store your updates to the database. The system validates required fields and prevents saving incomplete information that could cause issues downstream.
Additional Features
Depending on your company configuration, you may see additional tabs for pump logs, daily reports, DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports), and lab results. These specialized tabs appear only when relevant to your operations or when data exists for the project.
The project detail page also provides quick access to related functionality such as opening the customer record, viewing permit applications, and accessing GPS coordinates for navigation. These contextual links help you move efficiently between related tasks without searching.
