View individual project locations with detailed map information

Project Map

Each project in DrillerDB includes its own dedicated map showing the precise job site location. This project-level map appears on the project details screen and provides focused geographic information for a single work location.

Quick Start: View Project Map

  1. Open any project record
  2. Scroll to location section
  3. View map with job site marker
  4. Click Get Directions for navigation
  5. Click Adjust Location to refine the marker if needed

Step-by-Step: Add Location to Project Without Coordinates

  1. Open project record
  2. See blank map placeholder
  3. Choose method:
    • Enter street address (auto-geocodes)
    • Input latitude/longitude manually
    • Use Adjust Location to refine on the map
  4. Save project
  5. Map updates with marker

Step-by-Step: Get Directions

  1. Open project record
  2. Scroll to project map
  3. Click Get Directions below map
  4. Google Maps opens with route
  5. Follow turn-by-turn navigation

On mobile devices, the directions button automatically opens the Google Maps app for voice-guided navigation.

  1. Open project record
  2. Click Adjust Location button
  3. Map enters edit mode
  4. Drag marker to correct position
  5. Marker updates in real-time

Always verify marker position for rural addresses and new developments, where automatic geocoding is often inaccurate.

  1. Go to Settings > Document Settings
  2. Find "Include Map" option
  3. Enable for desired document types
  4. Save settings
  5. Future documents include map image

Troubleshooting

Map shows blank placeholder?

  • Project lacks GPS coordinates
  • Add address or coordinates to project
  • Use Adjust Location to set location

Marker in wrong location?

  • Click Adjust Location
  • Drag marker to correct position
  • Save changes

Directions not opening?

  • Check browser pop-up blocker
  • Try right-click, open in new tab
  • Verify GPS coordinates are valid

Map not loading?

  • Check internet connection
  • Refresh the page
  • Clear browser cache

Fullscreen not working?

  • Check browser permissions
  • Try pressing F11 for browser fullscreen
  • Update browser to latest version
