Project Map
Each project has its own map of the job site. It sits in the Well Location card on the project's Overview tab, next to the address and GPS fields, so you can check the pin and change the location in one place. A pump/service job shows the same map in its location card.
Quick Start: View the Project Map
- Open a project and stay on the Overview tab.
- Scroll to the Well Location card.
- Check the pin on the map and the coordinates in the corner.
- Click Directions to open the site in Google Maps.
- Click Adjust to move the pin if it is in the wrong place.
What the Map Shows

On a phone, Adjust and Directions show only their icons.
When DrillerDB placed the pin on the road because the address had no house number, the pin shows as an open orange ring and the card says "Approximate location (no house number; placed on the road)." Use Adjust to place the pin exactly.
If the Project Has No Coordinates
Without GPS coordinates the map does not show. A message reads "Set GPS coordinates below to preview the site on a map." with a Geocode address button.
- Enter the Well site address in the Well Location card. Pick the match from the suggestions list. DrillerDB fills the city, state, ZIP, and county, and fills the GPS fields too when they are empty.
- Or click Geocode address (or Address → GPS at the top of the card) to look up the coordinates for the address already entered.
- Or type the GPS Latitude and GPS Longitude yourself. DrillerDB reads decimal degrees, degrees-minutes-seconds, and degrees-decimal-minutes.
- The map appears as soon as both values are filled.
If the project already has coordinates, Address → GPS asks before it replaces them.
Step-by-Step: Move the Pin
- Click Adjust in the corner of the map.
- In the Adjust GPS Location window, drag the pin or click the map. The other tabs take typed coordinates. See GPS Coordinates.
- Click Update Location.
DrillerDB saves the new location at once. It also refreshes the elevation, county, and township for the new point. If the pin moved, a window asks "Update the address to the new location?" Choose Update address to replace the well address, city, state, and ZIP with the address at the pin, or Keep current address to leave them as they are.
Check the pin on rural addresses and new developments. Address lookups often land on the nearest existing house, not the building site.
Get Directions
Directions opens Google Maps at the project's coordinates in a new tab. On a phone with the Google Maps app, the link opens the app. Start the route from there.

Troubleshooting
The map is not there?
- The project has no GPS coordinates. Use Geocode address, or enter the latitude and longitude.
The pin is in the wrong place?
- Click Adjust, move the pin, and click Update Location.
Directions does not open?
- Check your browser's pop-up blocker. Directions opens a new tab.
The map does not load?
- Reload the page. If it still does not load, tell support at support@drillerdb.com.
