Export Options
DrillerDB's report exports are grouped on the Reports page under Operational Exports - one-click, date-stamped files ready to print or import. Reports and exports are limited to admin and office roles.
Quick Start: Export Data
- Open Reports from the navigation (Data group).
- Scroll to the Operational Exports section.
- Pick the export card you need and set its filters (priority, salesman, year, category, or date range).
- Click Download on that card.
- The file downloads to your browser.
Set each card's filters before downloading - the file reflects exactly what you selected. Files are named with the current date so repeated exports stay organized.
Export Formats
| Format | Used for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| CSV (.csv) | Operational lists, project data, spreadsheets, imports | Operational Exports cards; Daily Logs / Field Reports |
| QuickBooks IIF (.iif) | Completed projects as invoices for QuickBooks Desktop | "QuickBooks IIF" card |
| Monthly reports; per-driller unsafe-lab routing | Monthly Reports; Unsafe Lab card |
All CSV exports use UTF-8 encoding so accented letters and symbols in names and descriptions come through correctly.
Operational Exports (CSV)
Each card produces its own CSV:
- Open Job List - all current open jobs, filterable by readiness priority.
- Expeditor Well List - open wells assigned to a specific salesman.
- Expeditor Proposal List - proposals authored by a salesman in a given year.
- Open Service Work List - open Pump/Service jobs, filterable by category.
- Export Projects (CSV) - every project in your account with addresses, owner contacts, status, and totals - the general-purpose spreadsheet export.
Some cards are company-specific and only appear where they apply (for example the Ham List, Unsafe Lab List, and Dane County permit list).
QuickBooks IIF
The QuickBooks IIF card exports completed projects as invoices in tab-separated IIF format for QuickBooks Desktop. In QuickBooks, import it via File > Utilities > Import > IIF Files. For live, ongoing QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop (Web Connector) sync, see QuickBooks Export.
PDF Exports
- Monthly Reports open as a formatted HTML summary you can view in the browser or save as PDF. See Monthly Reports.
- The Unsafe Lab List offers a per-driller PDF for field routing in addition to its CSV.
Log Exports
Daily Logs and Field Reports each have CSV export controls for pulling cross-project operating records over a date range. Set the date range first, then export.
Troubleshooting
Export not downloading?
- Check your browser's download folder.
- Disable popup blockers temporarily.
- Try a different browser.
CSV opens incorrectly in Excel?
- Use Excel's Text Import Wizard and select UTF-8 encoding.
- Choose comma as the delimiter.
IIF import errors in QuickBooks?
- Confirm you are importing into QuickBooks Desktop (IIF is a Desktop format).
- Use File > Utilities > Import > IIF Files, not drag-and-drop.
