Milestone Tracking
The drill path strip sits under the project title on every drilling project. It shows where the job stands and what to do next.
Quick Start: Read the Strip
Step-by-Step
- Open a project from the Projects list.
- Find the strip under the title: the percentage, milestone dots and Next link. On a phone, a progress bar replaces the row of dots.
- Hold the pointer over a dot to see its name and status.
- Click a dot, or Next, to open the related project tab.
- Click the arrow at the right end of the strip to show the stage names (Proposal, Open Job, Completed) above the dots and show milestone cards. On a phone, it shows a vertical milestone list. DrillerDB remembers this choice in the browser.
What the Dots Mean
Hold the pointer over a dot. The text names the stage and the milestone, then its status:

| skipped (not needed for this project) | The step was passed over (see below). It counts as done. |
| status not tracked | DrillerDB has no record that marks this step yet. A step that is next may show "next" instead. |
| not applicable on this job | An office user marked Pump N/A for this job. The desktop detail can show who marked it and when. |
The expanded Permits card lists filled permit fields, or says the permit was recorded in the Compliance workspace. If no permit form is on file for the location, it says No permit form on file for this location and Check your county or local office. This does not establish that a permit is unnecessary.
Skipped steps. When the crew taps Tower Up on a job that was never dispatched, Crew Dispatched shows as skipped. Site Recon also shows as skipped if no site recon was saved. Skipped steps count as done in the percentage, and Next passes over them.
The Percentage and Next
The percentage is the share of the milestones you show that are complete, skipped or marked N/A. Hold the pointer over it to see the count, for example "5 of 8 milestones complete". Milestones turned off in Settings > Drill Path do not count. When no shown milestone remains to do, Next changes to Complete.
On a job that took more than one trip, a note beside the percentage counts the trips and the hours on site, for example "2 trips" or "trip 3 of 3 in progress".

What the Strip Does Not Do
- It does not show a completion timestamp or staff name for every step, or estimate dates. A Pump N/A mark can show who set it and when.
- It does not stop you from doing work out of order. Each step turns green from its own record, so a site recon saved before the proposal goes out shows green right away.
- You cannot mark a step complete by hand. Office users can expand the strip and use Mark N/A for this job on Pump when it does not apply, or Undo N/A to restore it.
Change Which Steps Show
The twelve milestones are fixed. You can turn off the ones your company does not track, and you can move the Permits step to the Open Job stage. You cannot rename or reorder steps. See Drill Path Settings.
