DrillerDB uses contact types to organize relationships used in projects, billing, and referrals.

Quick Start: Assign Contact Type

  1. Open Rolodex
  2. Create or open a contact
  3. Select the correct type (Owner, Builder, Pump Installer)
  4. Save the contact
  5. Verify the contact appears in the expected workflows

Contact Type Overview

Owner

Use Owner when the contact is the primary customer for the project.

  • Receives proposals and invoices
  • Usually tied to project payment responsibility
  • Most common default for residential work

Builder

Use Builder when a contractor or development company coordinates work between owner and subcontractors.

  • Helpful for multi-trade projects
  • Can be tied to project communications
  • May be different from invoice recipient depending on workflow

Pump Installer

Use Pump Installer for partner companies used in referrals or downstream service coordination.

  • Used for referral workflows
  • Ideal for post-drilling handoffs
  • Best kept current with location/contact details

Multiple Type Assignments

A contact can have more than one type when business roles overlap.
