Weather Dashboard
DrillerDB shows weather in four places: the project page, the project list, the dashboard, and the Weather page. This page describes each place and what you can read there.
Quick Start: Open the weather for a project
- Go to Projects in the sidebar.
- Open a project that has GPS coordinates.
- Find the weather card on the Overview tab.
- Click the card to open the full weather detail.
- Click Refresh in the weather detail to load new data.
The weather detail shows when the data was last updated, next to the site coordinates. Click Refresh if the data is old.

Project weather card
The weather card is on the Overview tab of a project. It shows the temperature, the conditions, the high and low, and the wind. A strip below shows the high, the low, and the conditions for 5 days.
The card appears only when the project has a GPS latitude and a GPS longitude. DrillerDB pulls the forecast for those coordinates, so the forecast is for the job site and not for the nearest town.
If the forecast cannot load, the card says that the weather is unavailable.
Weather detail
Click the weather card to open the weather detail. It has these sections:
- At the top, the temperature, the conditions, the high and low, the wind, the humidity, and the chance of rain.
- Risk alerts lists the risks in the next 3 days of the forecast. This section appears only when the forecast has a risk. See Weather Risk Levels.
- 7-day forecast has one card for each day with the high, the low, and the chance of rain.
- Precipitation outlook shows bars for the rain in the past 7 days and the rain in the forecast.
- Ground conditions shows the rain in the last 7 days, the rain expected in the next 24 hours, a saturation estimate, and the number of days since the last rain. A sentence below the numbers tells you whether to check site access.
The risk alerts are text on the screen. DrillerDB does not send them to anyone.
Ground wetness badge
The project list, the project cards, and the map side panel show a ground wetness badge next to a project that has GPS coordinates. The badge reads Dry, Damp, Wet, or Muddy. Hover over the badge to see the rain total for the last 7 days.
A project with no usable location has no badge.
Dashboard weather
The Weather card on the dashboard shows today's high, low, and conditions for your company address. It also shows the high and the low for the next 3 days. If DrillerDB has no coordinates for your company address, the card shows Could not load weather.
Weather page
The Weather page lists each open job that has GPS coordinates. There is no menu item for this page. To open it, go to console.drillerdb.com/weather.
For each job, the list shows a risk label (Safe, Caution, or Danger), the conditions, the wind, the chance of rain, and the high and low. Click a job to see its forecast and its weather for the past days in the panel next to the list.
Mobile
The iOS app shows a Weather card with the site's risk level on the project overview. The Android app does not show a forecast.
What the weather feature does not do
- It does not send weather alerts by email, text message, or push notification.
- It does not show weather on the schedule calendar.
- It does not show an hourly forecast.
- It does not show weather history older than 7 days.
- You cannot change the risk thresholds.
