DepthMap includes the same well data and tools as DrillerDB's built-in map. Choose DepthMap if you only need well data access without project management features.
What is DepthMap?
DepthMap provides access to about 23 million water well records worldwide: 16.3 million filed with state agencies across the United States, 2.2 million from Canada, and the rest from Germany and Britain. The interactive map displays well locations with detailed construction information, depth data, geological formations, and original well logs where available.

Data Coverage
Well data is sourced from public records maintained by state agencies across the country. Coverage and data quality vary by state and region. Some states have complete digital records dating back decades, while others have limited historical data.
The database is continuously updated as new well reports are filed and additional state data becomes available.
Troubleshooting
Can't access DepthMap?
- Verify your subscription is active in account settings
- Clear browser cache and try again
- Try a different browser if issues persist
Wells not loading?
- Check your internet connection
- Zoom in to load wells at a visible scale
- Switch on Well Logs in the bottom toolbar and pick All Wells
The map says "The map could not load"?
- Google Maps did not finish loading in your browser
- Click Reload in the message to load the page again
- If the message comes back after a reload, contact support (below)
A well shows a note instead of its full record?
- The note says why the full record did not load, for example too many well lookups in a short time
- See Understanding Well Data for each note and what to do
Geology estimates not appearing?
- Ensure there are nearby wells with data
- Try a different location with more well coverage
- Check that you're zoomed in enough
